TEIR publishes open letter to Texas Senators urging action on immigration reform
In an open letter published in the Dallas Morning News, Texas Employers for Immigration Reform urged Senators Cornyn and Hutchison to help pass comprehensive immigration reform.
The letter, which was signed by several dozen prominent Texas employers, applauded and acknowledged the Senators vital role in the process. It is part of a larger TEIR ad campaign to support calling for comprehensive immigration reform.

"This campaign is about educating the public," said Bill Hammond, president of the Texas Association of Business and TEIR Board Member, during a statewide media tour to kickoff the campaign and grassroots mobilization effort in advance of the expected U.S. House and Senate debate on immigration reform legislation.
Texas Immigration Summit Highlights Need for Comprehensive Reform
On December 7th 2006, Texas Employers for Immigration Reform and the Texas Association of Business hosted a one-day conference that brought lawmakers and business leaders together to address the issue of immigration.
Panel discussions covered both federal and state issues and included guest speakers from contrasting sides of the debate. Full Agenda
Craig Regelbrugge of the American Nursery and Landscape Association presented an excellent overview of the impact of immigration on agriculture, and Bill Hammond, Texas Association of Business offered his thoughts on the politics and public opinion of the issue and outlined how TEIR is impacting the debate. |
